The prominent writer, poet and translator Nebiy Mekonen, who is the editor-in-chief of Addis Admas newspaper; Three books he has written and translated will be published next Monday.
The books are titled "Negem Lela Ken New”, "Yemechereshaw Negegir” and "Yenga Sew Be America” which roughly translated to “Tomorrow is Another Day", “The Last Speech” and “Our Man in America" respectively. It is said that prominent artists will celebrate in a special platform where they will present their works.
Next Monday, August 30, starting at 11:00, at the special graduation ceremony to be held at the Friendship International Hotel in Bole, it is said that the known artist Abebe Balcha, Artist Teferi Alemu, traditionalist Behailu Gebremedhin and Artist Getnet Enyew will present their works.
The regular entrance fee for the ceremony is 300 birr and it is 1000 birr for VlP with a free cocktail dinner.
One of the books that will be launched on the day is "Negem Lela Ken New", the second volume of the translation of the famous American classic book "Gone With The Wind"; It is known that poet Nebiy Mekonen secretly translated on cigarette wrappers while he was in prison during the Derg era.
It is said that the books can be found on the first floor of the holy Trinity building, located at Aret Kilo.
Poet Nebiy Mekonen, who is one of the founders of the weekly Addis Admas newspaper, which has been running for more than 20 years, and who is still working as the editor-in-chief, has previously published two collections of poetry, and it is remembered that he has completed other plays for the stage, including "Nathaniel Tabibu", means “The wise Nathaniel”.
