Alemayehu Gebrehiwot, the author of Befiker Menged, is also a playwright and published poet. He has written and translated numerous plays for radio, television, and stage, many of which— including two children's plays—have been presented to Ethiopian audiences. Among his notable works are his Amharic translations of Oscar Wilde’s Lady and other major productions.
